Best of the West (BOTW) was created with Canadian athletes in mind. Following the principles found in our Mission and Vision, the tournament gives athletes high level competition while exposing them to potential USport and CCAA opportunities.

​

TEAM SELECTION

2025 will be the 18th year that the Dinos have hosted this elite tournament with representatives from BC, AB, SK, MB and ON. To ensure a competitive format, each participating province is allocated an equal number of spots (*this varies year to year), this ensures teams will compete against programs from outside of their region. Teams are invited based on their previous season's Provincial and National results, their location and history attending the tournament.

NEW for 2025: If your team would like to be considered for the 2025 Best of the West, you can submit an expression of interest. Application submission will close October 1st, and invitations will be sent out starting October 7th.

BEST OF THE WEST 2025 DETAILS

• DATES: March 28, 2025~ March 30, 2025 (3 days) 

  • Competition begins the Friday morning of March 28th​, 2025

  • Last game scheduled to start at 3:30pm on Sunday, March 30th, 2025

  • 12 teams per age group (2-4 teams from each province)

• AGE CATEGORIES:  15U, 16U, 17U & 18U

• VENUES: Junior Varsity Volleyball Training Centre and the University of Calgary
